Finally after almost 19 months we managed to put on an old fashioned grading. We managed last December in the midst of the lockdown to organise a Zoom grading with Sensei Mick Lowe, but finally on Sunday 11th July we all got together to hold a club grading.
Normally at gradings we have two separate training sessions for lower grades and high grades and then one big grading afterwards, but due to still having restriction on how many people we could have in the hall, we had three training sessions and gradings straight after.
Firstly Sensei Mick took the white belts through their paces, going through all they need for grading. We then went straight into grading, where our two youngest juniors were awarded an orange and white belt, a step on the way for our two little karateka. The others, though clearly nervous, all performed really well, so much so that each of them passed with little problem.

Once the room was cleared of happy people wearing brand new orange belts, the colour belts came in. Once more they went through their paces with Sensei Mick, before he assessed them for their belts, once more each of them passed, with Harry managing to impress significantly to gain a double grade.

Finally the purple and brown belts came in, after a gruelling training session in now a very humid sports hall, they all once more passed without any major issue.

Sensei Mick before handing them their license, certificate and belt, gave each and everyone one of them advice on what he had seen in the grading, hopefully they all took it on board and will work on that before the next grading, hopefully later this year.
Sensei Wayne and Sensei Chris would like to thank Sensei Mick for coming over and taking everyone through their paces, we would also like to thank all the higher grades that helped out during the day, especially Lottie, who was there to help for over eight hours.
Newark SKC would like to thank Phil and Barnby Road School, for such a great venue and also Kelly from Active4today for helping us to arrange the venue for grading.
